Montenegro was one of the first countries to join the OGP global initiative in 2012. At the moment, Montenegro is expected to complete the implementation of its third National Action Plan (NAP) 2022-2024 for OGP, and start the co-creation process for a new NAP.

With that in mind, National Democratic Institute (NDI) and the Ministry of Public Administration are co-hosting a discussion that will gather civil society representatives and representatives of numerous ministries and institutions. The goal of the event is to discuss the:

1) NAP implementation status (2022-2024)
2) Priorities and co-creation process for the next NAP
3) Concept and status of the Operational team, selection process, legal framework, challenges and needs.

Institutions will be able to present their achievements in the NAP implementation process, and to inform stakeholders about their priorities for the next Plan. Civil society representatives will have an opportunity to reflect on their role and to provide inputs on how they see the status of the current NAP, how the new co-creation process should be designed and which areas and topics should be prioritized and/or introduced.

Meet the moment. Raise ambition. Rise to the challenge.

The Open Government Challenge is a call to action for all members of OGP to raise ambition in ten areas of open government to help strengthen our democracies. Over the next five years, all members of the Partnership should aim to raise the ambition of reforms in 10 policy areas and demonstrate relevant progress in as many of the areas of the Challenge through their OGP action plans or beyond. We must act together to make a difference, because only when governments, public officials, and civil society work together, we see more ambitious and impactful reforms that transform our communities.

It’s our time to meet the moment. Let’s use Open Gov Week to take on the the Open Gov Challenge.
