The Parliamentary Launch of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) National Action Plan (NAP) 5 (Inclusion & Action) is a crucial event within the broader context of OPENGOV WEEK. This event is designed to introduce and catalyze the implementation of OGP NAP 5 within the parliamentary framework. The launch aims to unite crucial parliamentary and civil society stakeholders to promote transparency, accountability, and citizen engagement through structured and inclusive dialogue and action.
The launch will climax with an OGP Business Seminar Coordinated by the Westminster Foundation for Democracy, National Council for Civic Education and Democracy, Parliament of Sierra Leone, and other key OGP players in Sierra Leone. At the Business Seminar, different MDAs and partners will sell their commitments’ gains and proposed actions to Members of Parliament, CSOs and the Media, other non-OGP implementing MDAs, and the Private Sector.

Meet the moment. Raise ambition. Rise to the challenge.

The Open Government Challenge is a call to action for all members of OGP to raise ambition in ten areas of open government to help strengthen our democracies. Over the next five years, all members of the Partnership should aim to raise the ambition of reforms in 10 policy areas and demonstrate relevant progress in as many of the areas of the Challenge through their OGP action plans or beyond. We must act together to make a difference, because only when governments, public officials, and civil society work together, we see more ambitious and impactful reforms that transform our communities.

It’s our time to meet the moment. Let’s use Open Gov Week to take on the the Open Gov Challenge.
