We are pleased to invite you to an online forum hosted by the NGO Information and Support Centre in partnership with Ministry of Social Security and Labour.
As every year in the democracies, May is marked by a week of government openness, aiming to draw attention and emphasizes the importance of dialogue between public authorities and the public. NGO Information and Support Center together with the Ministry of Social Security and Labour of the Republic of Lithuania are also contributing to this initiative by organizing the forum “Participatory and deliberative democracy in Lithuania”.
Democracies around the world are looking for ways and means to involve citizens more actively in state-building and solutions adoption processes. One of the most important elements of a democratic state is civil society, which is actively involved in non-governmental organizations and voluntary initiatives. However, are all the possibilities and ways to be exploited yet to involve citizens more actively in decision-making processes, thus implementing the principles of participatory democracy in the country discussed during the forum with politicians, NGO leaders, public servants, and scientists.
This is an open virtual event. More information about the event and full agenda can be found here:
