This session will highlight how an open and empowering civic space helps OGP stakeholders in both government and non-government make their advocacies and initiatives on governance more impactful and felt on the ground.

A panel discussion will be undertaken to tackle the governance reforms and innovations of the government and non-government champions. The discussion will revolve around Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)’s initiatives on CSO participation in local governmental processes, Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA)’s experience in promoting transparent and accountable government, Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO)’s program on localization of Freedom of Information (FOI) through local ordinances, Council for People’s Development and Governance (CPDG)’s advocacies on civic space and people’s right to development, Education Network (e-Net)’s efforts in pushing education reforms and for complementing, consolidating and integrating various initiatives of civil society organizations, and Philippine Partnership for the Development of Human Resources in Rural Areas (PhilDHRRA)’s commitment to the pursuit and realization of agrarian reform and rural development in the country.
